The Tool Belt
Most people are very familiar with this option. Like a regular belt, it simply fastens around your waist by putting a needle through one of the holes. It is equipped with a variety of pockets that are designed to hold different tools.
The Tool Rig
Very similar to a tool belt, a tool rig is secured around your waist and features a variety of pockets. However, typically a tool rig offers more you more flexibility with your storage pockets than a tool belt does. Most are designed to be easily removed or adjusted.

A tool or work apron, like a cooking apron, simply ties around your waist or your neck. It usually has a number of large pockets that are ideal for smaller, lightweight tools. While an apron does provide some protection to your clothing, it isn't ideal for heavy or bulky tools.
