Very nice finish - I thought for this price it would be a "second" but it was flawless. It IS heavy but it's no worse than a full suitcase when it (the box) is full of tools. I thought the dimensions were a bit small but if it was any biggger it'd be too hard to carry! Advice: don't forget to order some non-slip liner cause it carries easier if the contents are not sliding all to one end. It has a loop for a padlock which is good cause my 4-year old son loves to play w the box; if I was a little more financially stable I'd get him one and keep it new until his 14th birthday. I get so many compliments on it it's funny. Fast shipping (4 days to TN via FedEx regular shipping). I am trying to resist ordering one more - arrgh.

This package was received in a good timely manner and the box was intact. But after opening it I found that the handles were bent to where the box would not close securely. after trying to flex the handles apart a little to facilitate the box closing properly, I ended up ripping out 3 rivets from the handle by hand. The metal is soft and thin. I think not very well made.

This package was received in a good timely manner and the box was intact. But after opening it I found that the handles were bent to where the box would not close securely. after trying to flex the handles apart a little to facilitate the box closing properly, I ended up ripping out 3 rivets from the handle by hand. The metal is soft and thin. I think not very well made.

I needed a small portable toolbox for work. This box is much higher quality than I expected for the price. It keeps all my small hand tools organized for easy access. I am going to buy another one to keep at my house.

I used this to replace and organize an old flimsy single compartment toolbox I inherited. The sturdiness of this is amazing, especially considering the price. The only problem I have with this toolbox is that it stirs the gearhead in me and has me out constantly looking for new tools to buy and fill it. This was my first purchase with a Hayneedle store and I must say I am quite pleased. Also, I did some price shopping around the internet, and this was a very very competitive price here. This goes by other names on other sites, but just go by the picture. The exact same product (with the same stock image) is sold under different model names elsewhere for more.If you plan to tote this around town, it may be wise to line the insides with non-slip liner. Just like any other toolbox with long length-wise compartments, it's conceivable that your tools may all slide to one side as you're carrying it and throw the weight off center. It hasn't happened to me yet at all. I was just admiring how great the paint and finish is inside and out and figured that it may be a bit more on the slick side. It's beautiful though!I've never seen the Excel brand before, but I am impressed by the brand and would buy again. This thing is heavy and feels very substantial. It's obviously not as light as a plastic toolbox, and feels much beefier!Oh yeah... I got the black version. It looks like a fancy clearcoated sports car. I like it a lot. I wonder if the red version of this would look like a hot Ferrari.
